News Desk: In a sharp escalation of rhetoric, Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has issued a direct warning to India, suggesting that any future conflict could extend well beyond border areas and into the country’s interior.
The statement comes days after India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh cautioned Islamabad that any provocation along the border would invite a “swift and decisive” response.
‘Conflict won’t be limited to borders’
Speaking amid rising tensions, Asif indicated that the nature of any future confrontation would be far more expansive than past engagements. He warned that Pakistan would be prepared to carry out strikes deep inside Indian territory, signalling a shift from conventional border skirmishes.
In a particularly provocative remark, he spoke of targeting locations “inside homes” and referenced camps linked to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, asserting that Pakistan would respond more aggressively if hostilities escalate.
