A highlight of the visit will be Modi’s participation in a major community outreach event — “Selamat Datang Modi Ji” — scheduled in Kuala Lumpur this evening. Nearly 15,000 members of the Indian diaspora are expected to attend the gathering, underscoring the strong cultural and social bonds shared by the two countries.
The programme will be jointly addressed by both leaders, reflecting what officials describe as the growing warmth and depth of bilateral relations. Modi noted that the Indian community in Malaysia acts as a “living bridge” between the two nations and continues to play a vital role in sustaining their historic friendship.
Meanwhile, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal highlighted that India and Malaysia share a comprehensive strategic partnership anchored in deep historical and cultural ties. He added that the Prime Minister’s visit carries a wide-ranging agenda and is expected to provide fresh momentum to the evolving partnership.
The visit is seen as another step in consolidating India’s outreach in Southeast Asia while reinforcing diplomatic, economic and people-to-people connections with Malaysia.
