New Delhi/Patna: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday lashed out at the Congress-RJD alliance after abusive slogans were hurled against his late mother, Heeraben Modi, from their rally stage in Bihar. Calling it an affront to all women, Modi said the incident reflected the opposition’s “anti-woman mentality.”

Addressing a Bihar event virtually, the PM said, “I never imagined such words would be used. From the RJD-Congress platform, my mother was abused. This is not just an insult to my mother, but to every mother, sister, and daughter of India.”

Without naming Congress MP Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, Modi attacked “dynasty politics,” calling them “princes” born with silver spoons. “The penance of a poor mother, the suffering of her son—these young royals will never understand. For them, Bihar and the nation’s power are family inheritance,” he remarked.

The Prime Minister underlined that in Indian tradition a mother’s place is above gods and ancestors, stressing that the abusive mindset exposes a deep-rooted disrespect towards women.

The controversy erupted during the Vote Adhikaar Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, when a man identified as Rizwi alias Raja shouted slurs against Modi and his late mother.

With Bihar heading for polls in a few months, the episode has further sharpened the political battle lines. The Congress-RJD alliance is eyeing to unseat the ruling NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
