SBU Ranchi and AIT Thailand Forge Global Academic Partnership

Bangkok/Ranchi: With the aim of strengthening global academic cooperation, Sarala Birla University (SBU), Ranchi, and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday. The signing ceremony took place at the AIT Conference Hall in Bangkok.

The MoU was formally signed by Prof. C. Jeganathan, Vice Chancellor of SBU, and Prof. Manukid Parnichkun, Vice President – Academic and Research at AIT. The agreement aims to foster international collaboration through faculty and student exchange programs, joint research projects, innovation and entrepreneurship development, and capacity-building initiatives.

The signing event was attended by senior officials from both institutions. Notable attendees from AIT included Prof. Nitin K. Tripathi, Executive Director; Dr. Sumana Shrestha, Director, Office of International Affairs; and several Deans. The SBU delegation comprised Dr. Sandeep Kumar, Mr. Ajay Kumar, Dr. B. Samanta, Dr. Manoj Pandey, Dr. Riya Mukherjee, Dr. Meeta Verma, Mrs. Sweta Kumari, Dr. Utsav Vishal, Dr. Sagar Sarangi, and Dr. Abhishek Kumar.

The collaboration received enthusiastic support from leadership at both institutions. Prof. Pai-Chi Li, President of AIT, welcomed the partnership, while from SBU, Chancellor Jayashree Mohta, Pro-Chancellor B.K. Dalan, Board of Governors member Anant Jatia, Director General Prof. Gopal Pathak, and Director of Planning and Development Dr. Pradip Kumar Varma also expressed their strong commitment to the MoU.

This strategic partnership is expected to open new pathways for academic excellence and cross-border innovation, positioning both institutions as key players in the global education and research ecosystem.
