Deoghar: A devastating road accident early Tuesday morning claimed the lives of six Kawariyas and left several others seriously injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Jamunia Chowk, under Mohanpur block, around 15 km from Deoghar district headquarters.
According to officials from the district administration, the accident occurred around 5:30 am when a bus carrying Kawariyas, who had just offered holy water at the Baba Baidyanath Temple, was heading towards Basukinath in Dumka. The bus collided with a truck loaded with LPG cylinders coming from the opposite direction.
The impact of the collision was so severe that six pilgrims died on the spot. Emergency response teams quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured were immediately transported to Deoghar Sadar Hospital for treatment.
Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ravi Kumar rushed to the accident site upon receiving the alert. He personally coordinated ambulance services and later visited the hospital to oversee the treatment and ensure the best possible medical care for the injured.
