University of Birmingham Dubai Invites Applications for MSc in Financial Data Science

Dubai: The University of Birmingham Dubai has begun accepting applications for its MSc in Financial Data Science, a forward-looking postgraduate program designed to equip students with the analytical and computational skills necessary to interpret complex financial data in the modern digital economy.

This interdisciplinary course brings together finance, mathematics, statistics, and data science to offer a practical and theoretical understanding of how data can be used for intelligent decision-making in financial contexts. The program covers key subjects such as mathematical modeling of randomness, deep learning and neural networks, data visualization, and advanced statistical techniques.

Set to commence in September 2025, the MSc program is available in both full-time and part-time formats. Full-time students will complete the course in 12 months, while part-time students can spread their studies over 24 months. The curriculum includes 120 credits of taught modules and a 60-credit dissertation project. The dissertation offers students the chance to work closely with experienced faculty members on an independent research project that tests their analytical, research, and communication skills.

Classes will be delivered in person at the university’s Dubai campus. Applicants are required to hold a 2:1 Honours degree in mathematics, statistics, or a related field with strong quantitative components. An IELTS score of 6.5, with no band lower than 6.0, is also required for non-native English speakers.

The university has waived application fees for this intake. Tuition fees are set at AED 168,608 per year for full-time students and AED 84,304 per year for part-time students. In addition, the University of Birmingham Dubai is offering a range of scholarships that are available to all students and can be applied throughout the duration of their academic journey, whether at the foundation, undergraduate, or postgraduate level.

Applications for the September 2025 intake are now open.
