Emphasising the power and dignity of women, Dr. Rani Thakur, Co-Convenor of the BJP State Kisan Morcha Cooperative Cell, said that women are the embodiment of creation, resilience and strength, describing them as “Narayani” who illuminate families and society with their courage and dedication.
Speaking on the occasion of International Women’s Day (March 8), Dr. Thakur said the day is observed globally to celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women while reaffirming the commitment to gender equality and women’s rights.
Highlighting the significance of this year’s observance, she noted that the 2026 theme focuses on women’s leadership and technological innovation, with the broader aim of strengthening respect, opportunities and empowerment for women across sectors.
Dr. Thakur said International Women’s Day also serves as a platform to raise awareness about gender equality, reproductive rights and the need to eliminate violence against women. “This day celebrates the courage, determination and invaluable contributions of women to society,” she added.
Across India, the occasion is being marked through various initiatives, including felicitation ceremonies and special offers for women, recognising their role in shaping families, communities and the nation.
“Woman, you are Narayani — a symbol of creation, strength and tolerance,” Dr. Thakur said, stressing that society must ensure respect and equal rights for every woman. “A woman’s smile brightens the world, and her dedication nurtures families. Society can truly progress only when every woman receives the dignity and rights she deserves.”
She added that International Women’s Day is not merely a celebration but a reaffirmation of society’s resolve to empower women and strengthen their role in nation-building.
