12 Jharkhand’s students qualifies for National in Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan

vvm#Out of 12 from Jharkhand, 6 students of DPS Bokaro qualifies for VVM are Rupesh Kumar of Class VI, Khushi Bharti of Class VIII, Anshu Priya of Class IX and Aruno Khushgra of Class XI topped the exam with State Rank I.

Bokaro: Taking away lions share and exhibiting exceptional scientific acumen, 6 students of DPS Bokaro out of total 12 students of Jharkhand who qualified from the state for the National Level Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) 2019— a national programme for educating and popularizing science jointly organized by Vijnana Bharati, NCERT and Vigyan Prasar.

Of the rest 6 students of the state who qualified for the nationals—2 students are from DAV Hazaribagh while one each from DPS Dhanbad, GGPS Dhanbad, JNV Ranchi and Devi DAV Public School Deoghar.

A total of 130 students from 24 districts have taken this tough test of which 18 finally made to the finals of which only those getting 1st and 2nd rank are eligible for participating in the national finals to be held at Hyderabad in the month of May.

From DPS, Rupesh Kumar of Class VI, Khushi Bharti of Class VIII, Anshu Priya of Class IX and Aruno Khushgra of Class XI bagged topped the state with State Rank I. Agrima Prasad of Class VI and Deepnashu Kumar of Class X bagged State Rank 2 while Aditya Ratna Jha of Class VI, Bhavya Singh of Class VII, Aditi Shikha of Class VIII and Harshit Mania of Class X secure State Rank third in the exam. The national qualifiers have been awarded cash prize, a trophy, certificate and a medal.

Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan (VVM) is a national programme with the objective to identify keen knowledge seekers in Science and then nurture them for the higher level of science education.

VVM examination includes Written Test, Observational Analysis of Video Clips, Situation Problem Solving and Hands-on Activities.

Dr. Hemlata S. Mohan, the Director & Principal of DPS Bokaro expressed her happiness and urged that more students should participate in such activities that invoke and promote scientific temperament.
