Bokaro Police Bust Rs 14.73 Lakh Cyber Fraud, Three Arrested from Indore

Bokaro: In a major breakthrough, the Bokaro Cyber Crime Police have uncovered a cyber fraud case involving Rs 14.73 lakh and arrested three individuals from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The accused allegedly duped a victim by luring him into a fake stock market investment scheme.

Addressing a press conference, Bokaro SP Harvinder Singh revealed that the arrested individuals — Ayushi Jain, Ansh Jain, and others — had defrauded Uttam Kumar Sinha on December 1, 2024, through bogus online trading platforms, including “Meta Trader 5” and “Meta Trader 5 Pro.” The fraud was carried out under the guise of offering high returns on investments.

An FIR was lodged under Cyber Crime Police Station, Bokaro, as Case No. 10/2025 dated March 28, 2025. The charges include sections 111, 318(4), 336(3), and 338 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), along with sections 66(B), 66(C), and 86(D) of the Information Technology Act.

Following a detailed technical investigation, the police arrested three accused from Indore: Gaurav Juni alias Gaurav Panchal alias Ashish Yadav alias Suraj (23 years), Nihal Sonone (23) and Paras Marmat (23 years).

During the raid, police recovered Rs 14.33 lakh in cash, a money counting machine, a daily attendance register, three mobile phones (iPhone, VIVO, OPPO), ATM and credit cards from 16 banks, a driving license, and an RC book.

SP Harvinder Singh urged the public to remain vigilant against online scams and advised against investing in unverified digital schemes.

The team included SI Gaurav Goyal (Investigating Officer), SI Pramod Kumar Pandit, SI Sant Kumar Mehta, ASIs Ramesh Verma, Intakam Khan, Ritesh Kumar, Avadh Kumar, Bhagirath Kumar, and Birsa Kachhap, many of whom provided technical support during the operation.
