News Desk: American singer Mary Millben has alleged that the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), founded by Abhijeet Dipke, is receiving financial support from US-based donors opposed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Urging Indian youth to organise peaceful protests, Millben has called for a counter-movement against what she described as the organisation’s disruptive approach.

In a post on social media platform X on Wednesday, Millben claimed that certain US-based donors target conservative leaders internationally by identifying individuals educated in the United States, influencing their political outlook and supporting their activities after they return to their home countries. She alleged that such efforts are aimed at creating political instability and undermining governance.

Millben also defended Modi’s political record, highlighting his long public career and leadership as Prime Minister. She argued that Indians should take the lead in protecting their democracy and freedom through peaceful and organised public action.

CJP Founder Demands Evidence of Foreign Funding

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has challenged the Centre to produce evidence supporting the allegations of foreign funding. He has called on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to order an investigation and make its findings public.

The controversy has emerged amid heightened political tensions over electoral-roll revisions under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise. The CJP and its supporters have been demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging irregularities in the voter-list revision process. The Election Commission has maintained that the revision exercise is intended to ensure the accuracy of electoral rolls.

CJP Leaders Sent to Judicial Custody

The funding allegations have surfaced alongside legal action against CJP leaders following protests in New Delhi. Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das were reportedly sent to five days of judicial custody after an incident at the Jantar Mantar protest site, where demonstrators demanded the election chief’s resignation.

The developments have intensified the political debate surrounding the organisation, its campaign against the Election Commission and the allegations of foreign involvement.

Foreign Funding Claim Yet to Be Established

Despite the strong allegations, publicly verifiable evidence establishing that US-based donors have funded the CJP has not been presented in the reports surrounding the controversy. Details regarding the identities of the alleged donors, the amount of money involved and the purported transfer of funds remain unclear.

Dipke has rejected the allegations and demanded an investigation. Until documentary evidence or findings from a competent authority establish the claims, the alleged foreign funding remains unverified.

The controversy has raised questions about the organisation’s sources of funding, the possibility of foreign involvement in domestic political campaigns and the broader dispute over electoral reforms. Whether an official investigation will be initiated and produce evidence to support or refute the allegations remains to be seen.
