Bokaro: Beats and melody enthralled the audience as the cultural week at DPS Bokaro witnessed Inter House group tabla, solo and group song competitions in the campus today.
Children presented musical renditions on the theme ‘Indian Folk’ whereas the participants of the solo song intonated ‘Ghazals’. The children played Tabla on ‘Jhap- taal’ with captivating beats which left the audience spellbound.
In group Tabla, Chenab bagged the first position whereas Jhelum and Jamuna houses shared the second position. The third position was secured by Sutlej house.
In solo song, Sutlej House secured the first position while the second position was jointly bagged by Raavi and Jamuna Houses. Chenab House was adjudged third.
In group song competition Jhelum House was declared first followed by Sutlej and Jamuna Houses who secured the second and third positions respectively.
The Chief Guest at Primary Wing Usha Prasad, Vice President, Bokaro Mahila Samiti appreciated the school for imparting holistic education and giving a platform to budding artists.
Appreciating the participants DPS Bokaro Principal, A. S. Gangwar said,” Music is an inseparable part of our life and is the soul of all languages.” He added such programmes help children to understand their rich cultural heritage in a better way.
