Bokaro: In a significant initiative to enhance the professional development of middle and high school science teachers, Bokaro Steel Limited’s (BSL) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Department has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Joy of Learning Foundation. The partnership aims to provide specialized training to educators in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science.
The MoU signing ceremony, held recently, was graced by Chief General Manager (Learning & Development) Mr. Manish Jalota and Director of the Joy of Learning Foundation, Ms. Anshumala Gupta, who were the chief guests of the event. The ceremony also saw the presence of Mr. Neeraj Tripathi, Senior Manager (CSR), along with other CSR Department officials, including Mr. Santosh Kumar, as well as participating teachers.
The Science Teacher Training Workshop, part of the MoA, will run until December 30, 2024, in Bokaro Steel City. A group of 45 selected middle and high school science teachers will undergo this comprehensive training. The first session was held at DAV Ispat Public School, Sector-8, and is the first in a series of four workshops scheduled over the coming months.
Designed to enhance teachers’ abilities to deliver high-quality science education, the workshop will focus on critical topics in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Environmental Science. Participants will gain valuable skills in conducting inquiry-based experiments, fostering practical learning experiences, and developing the reasoning necessary for conceptual clarity in science. The training aims to bridge the gap between theory, observation, and practical experience, ultimately strengthening the educators’ ability to nurture curiosity and critical thinking among students.
