BSL, TCIL sign MoU to employ 5G, other wireless communication technologies in steel sector

JNS: SAIL-Bokaro Steel Plant (BSL) has entered into an MoU with Telecommunications Consultants India Limited (TCIL) to explore the potential of the application of 5G, IT, Telecom and other wireless communication technologies in BSL, including SAIL’s Mines & Collieries, Central Coal Supply Organization and the SAIL Refractory Unit in Jharkhand.

The MoU was signed at Bokaro Steel Plant on Friday. B.K.Tiwari, Executive Director (Works) from BSL and Alka Selot Asthana, Executive Director (IT & Telecom) of TCIL, signed the MOU in the presence of senior officials.

With the support of TCIL, BSL has taken the initiative to establish a specialized 5G network, which will open the way for the use of 5G, IT, and Telecom technologies in the Steel manufacturing industry. This collaboration will not only benefit the steel factory, but will also aid in the development of mines, collieries, smart cities, and other sectors.

Speaking on occasion Alka Selot, elaborated that TCIL has the necessary expertise, experience, and resources to provide turnkey solutions for deployment, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of 5G, IT and Telecom technologies for SAIL-BSL.
