Godda: A comprehensive mock drill was carried out at the Adani Power Plant premises on Wednesday, following directives from the Central Government and District Administration. The safety exercise, aimed at enhancing emergency response preparedness, commenced at 4:00 PM and continued for 25 minutes.
The drill was executed in three structured phases and witnessed active participation from all employees and officers of the plant. In the initial phase, a siren alerted personnel to an emergency situation, prompting an orderly evacuation to designated safe zones.
The second phase simulated a fire emergency. A hypothetical fire scenario was enacted, during which fire control measures were demonstrated. Injured personnel were provided first aid at the plant’s medical center as part of the emergency response protocol.
In the final phase, severely injured individuals were transported to a nearby hospital using ambulances, highlighting the coordination between onsite response teams and external medical services. The phase included a live demonstration of rescue and relief operations.
Security Head Subrata Devnath and Safety Head Randhir Kumar briefed employees on essential safety protocols and preventive measures to be followed during real emergencies. Addressing the team, Power Station Head Prasun Chakraborty emphasized the critical role such drills play in safeguarding both lives and assets.
Local law enforcement, including Motiya OP in-charge Mahavir Pandit and his team, also marked their presence, reinforcing the collaborative approach to emergency management.
