ESL Steel Begins 2025 with Optimism, Significant Achievements

Bokaro: ESL Steel Limited celebrated the arrival of the New Year with a dynamic and motivating town hall event, which not only commemorated the company’s significant accomplishments of the past year but also set the stage for the opportunities and challenges that 2025 holds.

The event, attended by over 500 employees, leadership, and stakeholders both in person and virtually, was marked by a series of celebrations, including the unveiling of the 2025 company diary, a cake-cutting ceremony, and the recognition of the NCQC and CSR teams for their excellence. It highlighted the shared vision and growth that ESL Steel has experienced.

Ashish Gupta, CEO and Whole Time Director of ESL Steel, opened the event with a warm address, acknowledging the company’s remarkable achievements in 2024. He underscored the importance of unity, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in driving ESL Steel’s progress.

Gupta also expressed gratitude to the entire team, saying, “As we step into 2025, I extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone at Vedanta ESL. The past year has been filled with milestones, demonstrating our resilience and commitment to excellence. The town hall also included a message from Chairman Anil Agarwal, whose vision for the company focuses on upholding integrity, safety, and environmental responsibility. With a commitment to zero injuries and the nurturing of talent, the company plans to empower young innovators and foster greater commercial acumen in the coming year. Gupta further reinforced the principles of Satya (truth) and Ahimsa (non-violence), emphasizing ESL Steel’s dedication to community impact and long-lasting positive change.

ESL Steel’s achievements were also celebrated during the event, with the company receiving numerous accolades throughout 2024. Notable awards included the ‘Happy Place to Thrive Award 2023’ from ET HR World, recognition as Best in Large & Gen Y at the W.E. Global Awards, and the CII Award for Excellence in Women in STEM. The company was also honored with a Star-Rated Memento at the ENCON Awards and the ‘Excellence Award for TMT Supply’ at Samvaad 4.0 by the Union Minister of Heavy Industries & Steel.

Additionally, individual recognitions included Ms. Meenakshi Sabharwal receiving the ‘Wings of Steel Award’ from the Indian Steel Association, and Mr. Ashish Ranjan winning the prestigious ‘Sardar Patel National Award 2024’ for his leadership in CSR and Land Management. ESL Steel also shone at the NCQC 2024 ABV-IIITM event in Gwalior and was awarded the MQH Winner Trophy for Manufacturing at the MQH Best Practices Competition 2024.
