New Delhi: Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar firmly asserted that Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) are “100 percent foolproof.” His remarks come in response to ongoing allegations of manipulation from opposition parties.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Kumar emphasized that public participation in elections has addressed concerns surrounding the integrity of EVMs. “The confidence of voters is evident in their engagement during the electoral process,” he stated.
Opposition parties, notably the Congress, have repeatedly questioned the reliability of EVMs, particularly following the recent setbacks in the Haryana assembly polls. Several Congress leaders have once again voiced their apprehensions regarding the voting technology.
Kumar’s comments aim to reinforce confidence in the electoral system amidst the ongoing debate over EVM reliability.
