Gurugram: In a major crackdown on insurance fraud, Gurugram Police have exposed an alleged racket operating out of Galaxy One Hospital in New Palam Vihar, where fake patients were reportedly shown admitted to siphon off crores of rupees from multiple insurance companies.
The action followed a complaint by the Chief Minister’s flying squad, after which police teams conducted a search operation at the hospital located in Nihal Colony. During the raid, three employees of the facility were arrested for their alleged involvement in the fraud.
According to police officials, the investigation revealed that the hospital was allegedly creating bogus IPD (in-patient department) admissions and preparing fabricated medical records to file fraudulent insurance claims. ACP (West) Abhilaksh Joshi said the probe led to the recovery of around 60 suspicious claim files linked to nearly 25 insurance companies, indicating a well-organised network operating behind the scenes.
The case traces back to May 2025, when suspicious activities at the hospital first came under the scanner of the Chief Minister’s flying squad. During verification, authorities found that a doctor associated with the hospital had been using the title MBBS/MDMA despite not possessing a valid MD qualification, raising further red flags. Based on the findings, an FIR was registered at Bajghera police station on February 14, 2026.
Investigators believe the racket functioned through systematic fabrication of hospital records. Fake IPD entries were allegedly made without actual patient admissions, while forged medical records, lab reports and treatment bills were generated to support insurance claims. The claim amount was then allegedly shared between hospital staff and listed beneficiaries.
Police have arrested three hospital employees — identified as Sapna, Varsha and Gaurav — and seized a large cache of incriminating material, including hospital stamps, computers, fake bill books and forged medical documents. Officials suspect the fraud may involve crores of rupees given the scale of fake claims uncovered so far.
The police said the investigation is still underway and efforts are being made to identify other members of the alleged conspiracy. More arrests are likely as the financial trail and wider network come under scrutiny.
