HP may cut nearly 500 jobs in India: Analysts

Bengaluru: personal computer and printer maker HP is doing the sorting all over the world. The company retrenches a total of 9,000 worldwide. Experts believe that 500 employees of the company in India may have to be laid off.
Last week, the company said that by the year 2022, the workforce could be reduced from 7,000 to 9,000 globally. The company is taking this step under operations restructuring to reduce costs.

HP has not provided any information about how many sorties will be in India. In response to Media’s questions, the company said, “There will be layoffs globally and no number is fixed for any site or location.”
