IIT-ISM Dhanbad Showcases Innovation and Research Excellence at Industry Academic Conference 2024

Dhanbad: A high-level delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad (IIT-ISM)), led by Director Professor Sukumar Mishra, recently participated in the Industry Academic Conference 2024, held at NIT Jamshedpur.

The two-day event brought together leading academic institutions such as IIT BHU, IIT Bhilai, and IIT Patna, alongside industry giants including the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL), Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC), Tata Steel, and Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).

The conference was inaugurated by Santosh K. Gangwar, Governor of Jharkhand, in the presence of distinguished guests, including Professor Sukumar Mishra and Professor Rajiv Prakash, Director of IIT Bhilai.

The event featured a series of panel discussions focusing on strengthening industry-academia collaborations, with a strong emphasis on fostering innovation and advancing research through these partnerships.

During the conference, Professor Sukumar Mishra delivered a key address on the pivotal role of industry-academia collaborations in driving technological advancements and enhancing research capabilities. He was joined by Professor Dheeraj Kumar, Deputy Director of IIT-ISM, who also provided valuable insights on the importance of such collaborations for innovation and growth.

IIT-ISM showcased its state-of-the-art research facilities at a dedicated stall, attracting significant attention from industry leaders. The institute’s emphasis on promoting collaboration between academia and industry was further acknowledged when event organizers presented a memento to the IIT-ISM delegation in recognition of their contributions.

The IIT-ISM delegation also included key faculty members, such as Professor Sagar Pal, Dean of Research & Development; Professor A.R. Dixit, Dean of Infrastructure; Professor Alok Das, Dean of Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (IIE); Professor S. Das; and Ashish Kumar, who collectively represented the institute’s dedication to advancing research, innovation, and industrial partnerships.
