IIT-ISM’s Dr. Koushik Mondal Completes Prestigious Erasmus Training in Portugal

Dhanbad: IIT-ISM Dhanbad is proud to announce that Dr. Koushik Mondal, Principal Systems Engineer at the Institute’s Computer and Automation Centre, has successfully completed his training under the prestigious Erasmus scholarship program, facilitated through the MOBILE23 project.

This achievement is part of the Erasmus International Credit Mobility Programme, funded by the European Commission.

The Office of the Dean (International Relations & Alumni Affairs) at IIT ISM played a pivotal role in securing Dr. Mondal’s participation, having signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the MOBILE23 initiative.

Professor R. M. Bhaatacharjee, Dean of IRAA, expressed his congratulations to Dr. Mondal, noting that the scholarship enabled him to visit the Universidade do Porto in Portugal. Dr. Mondal attended a specialized training session at the university’s Reitoria da Universidade do Porto (SRI) from November 12 to November 16, 2024.

The Erasmus Mobility International Fellowship Award is aimed at fostering leadership in education, training, and technology, with a specific emphasis on digital transformation. The program seeks to strengthen international collaborations, bridging skill gaps in the global workforce through transnational partnerships between academic institutions and youth organizations.

Dr. Mondal, who has been with IIT ISM Dhanbad for over eight years, has been instrumental in enhancing the institute’s technological infrastructure. His contributions include the development of digital smart classrooms, advanced studios, computer labs, and High-Performance Computing (HPC) facilities, which have played a crucial role in elevating the institute’s academic and research capabilities.

IIT ISM Dhanbad congratulates Dr. Mondal on this significant achievement and looks forward to his continued contributions to the growth and innovation at the institute.
