News Desk:
In a striking revelation, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has publicly acknowledged that India launched ballistic missile strikes on multiple targets in Pakistan, including the strategically vital Nur Khan Airbase, during the night of May 9–10.
Speaking at a public event, Sharif disclosed that he was informed by Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Syed Asim Munir, of the missile attack carried out under Operation Sindoor — a retaliatory military offensive launched by India following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 tourists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baisaran Valley.
“Around 2:30 am on May 10, General Munir called me via a secure line and said India had launched ballistic missiles—one targeting Nur Khan Airbase and others at different locations,” Sharif said, in comments captured in a now-viral video.
Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif himself admits that General Asim Munir called him at 2:30am to inform him that India had bombed Nur Khan Air Base and several other locations. Nur Khan Airbase, located in Rawalpindi and operated by the Pakistan Air Force, plays a key role in military logistics and VIP transport. The base was previously targeted during the 1971 India-Pakistan war.
The admission has triggered strong reactions in India. BJP leader Amit Malviya posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Let that sink in — the Prime Minister was woken up in the middle of the night with news of strikes deep inside Pakistan. This speaks volumes about the scale, precision, and boldness of #OperationSindoor.”
Launched on May 7, Operation Sindoor was a swift and calculated response by the Indian Armed Forces to dismantle terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The Indian Air Force led the operation with surgical strikes on terror launchpads, airbases, and radar installations.
After the Pakistan Army escalated hostilities with cross-border shelling, India intensified its response, crippling several of Pakistan’s defence systems. Following international pressure and a ceasefire request from Islamabad, India paused military operations on May 10. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has issued a firm warning that any further provocation will invite immediate retaliation.
Operation Sindoor marks one of India’s most assertive military responses in recent years, signaling a shift in doctrine and zero tolerance toward cross-border terrorism.
