Moscow: Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Tuesday, during the 21st session of the India-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission on Military and Military Cooperation (IRIGC-M&MTC).
During the meeting, Singh conveyed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s warm greetings to President Putin and discussed a range of issues concerning bilateral defence cooperation. Both leaders acknowledged the vast potential of the India-Russia partnership and agreed that their combined efforts would yield significant results in the future.
Rajnath Singh emphasized the strength of the ties between the two nations, stating, “The friendship between our countries is higher than the highest mountain and deeper than the deepest ocean.” He reaffirmed India’s long-standing support for Russia, adding, “India has always stood by its Russian friends and will continue to do so in the future.”
Russian Defence Minister Andrei Belousov also participated in the discussions, underscoring the importance of strengthening military and defence relations between the two countries. The meeting further solidified the commitment to expanding collaboration in areas of defence technology, strategic partnerships, and regional security.
