Israel Claims 70% of Iran Targets Hit, Signals Imminent Strike Completion
Jerusalem: The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) on Tuesday said it is closing in on a decisive phase of its Iran campaign, with all high-priority pre-war targets likely to be eliminated by Wednesday.
According to The Jerusalem Post, Israeli forces have already destroyed the two most critical target categories—those posing immediate threats and those sustaining Iran’s military infrastructure—bringing total damage to nearly 60–70% of identified sites.
“Critical” targets included ballistic missile facilities and key nuclear-linked assets, while “essential” targets covered Iran’s broader military-industrial network. Strikes also hit satellite launch and anti-satellite systems, seen as vital to Tehran’s long-range and space capabilities.
The remaining targets—around 30–40%—are considered lower priority, tied to long-term operations with limited immediate battlefield impact.
Despite the gains, Israel has not fully stopped Iran’s missile retaliation, with estimates suggesting continued launches of 5–20 missiles over time.
Military spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani said Israel is prepared for “weeks” of further operations, even as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu indicated the war has crossed its midpoint.
With momentum on its side, Israel now faces a strategic choice—declare mission success or widen the offensive further.
