JNS: Indian Space Research Organisation has successfully launched its latest earth observation satellite EOS-01 along with nine customer satellites (foreign countries) onboard its Polar rocket from the spaceport in Sriharikota and placed into its intended orbit on Saturday.
The carrier vehicle PSLV-C49 launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh at 3.12 pm. The lift-off was originally scheduled for 3.02 pm, but was delayed by 10 minutes due to debris on the path of the vehicle, PTI reported.
After the launch, Indian Space Research Organisation Chief K Sivan addressed the media and said that the mission was “unique and unusual,” since the team had to function in compliance with the protocols Covid-19 without compromises on quality.
“At work from home, space operation can not be achieved,” Sivan said. “Each technician and employee must work together when talking about missions like these.”
This is the Indian Space Research Organization’s first mission this year.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated the Indian Space Research Organisation for the successful launch of its latest earth observation satellite.
PM Modi tweeted, “I congratulate @ISRO and India’s space industry for the successful launch of PSLV-C49/EOS-01 Mission today. In the time of COVID-19, our scientists overcame many constraints to meet the deadline.”
