Ahmedabad: Turning a personal celebration into a statement of social responsibility, Jeet and Diva Adani observed their first wedding anniversary by engaging with differently-abled women supported under their welfare initiative, underscoring a year-long effort focused on financial empowerment and security.

Conceptualised ahead of their 2025 wedding, the Adani Mangal Seva initiative was designed as a long-term support programme rather than a one-time gesture. Within its first year, the project met its initial goal of assisting 500 divyang women by creating ₹10-lakh fixed deposits in their names — a measure intended to generate steady income and strengthen financial independence.

The anniversary event, held at Shantigram, highlighted the evolution of a personal pledge into an organised welfare effort. Beneficiaries between 25 and 40 years were selected through certified eligibility processes, with deposits structured in coordination with banking partners. Organisers indicated that significant annual funding has been allocated to extend similar support to more beneficiaries in the coming years.
Led by the Adani Foundation, the programme emphasises continuity, dignity and empowerment. The evening included certificate distribution, cultural presentations and interactions with participants and their families, blending festivity with social purpose.
Family members underlined the value of aligning personal milestones with public good, stressing that sustained and respectful support can rebuild confidence and create pathways to opportunity. Foundation officials described the initiative as a recognition of resilience, noting that physical challenges should not restrict ambition or potential.
A coffee-table book documenting stories of transformation under the programme was also unveiled at the event, which concluded with a community gathering marking a year of impact and reiterating plans for expansion.
