JMM-Led INDIA Alliance Retains Power in Jharkhand Assembly Elections

Ranchi: In a decisive victory, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led INDIA alliance has successfully retained power in Jharkhand. The ruling coalition secured 56 of the state’s 81 assembly seats, with the JMM winning 34 seats. Its ally Congress claimed 16 seats, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) won 4 seats. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) managed to secure 21 seats, with other smaller parties accounting for the remaining seats.

The elections, which took place in two phases on November 13 and 20, saw a strong voter turnout of 67.74% across both phases, with the second phase registering a turnout of 68.95%.

The JMM-led alliance, which includes Congress, RJD, and CPI (Marxist-Leninist), emerged victorious despite challenges from the BJP and smaller parties. The alliance’s success has solidified its position in the state’s political landscape.

PM Modi Congratulates Hemant Soren and the JMM Alliance

Following the announcement of the results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren and the JMM-led alliance for their victory. In a statement, PM Modi expressed his gratitude to the people of Jharkhand for their support, saying, “I thank the people of Jharkhand for their trust in us. We will continue to prioritize raising people’s issues and working for the development of the state.”

The Prime Minister also acknowledged the success of the JMM-led alliance, extending his congratulations to the coalition for their strong electoral performance.
