PowerGrid Namkum distributes food materials among needy

Ranchi: In view of the nationwide lock-down due to coronavirus epidemic, the Namkum Sub-center of Power Grid Corporation of India Limited comes forward to provide food grain and other edible materials among the poor and needy families.

Foodgrains and edible materials (for 10 days) was distributed among 100 needy families in the Namkum block of Ranchi district on Friday, informed Satish Shankar, Chief Manager, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. Namkum.

The relief materials include rice, lentils, potatoes, flour, salt, biscuits and others were distributed in the Namkum block office premises under the leadership of Manish Kumar Jha Deputy General Manager cum Sub-center in-charge and under the guidance of Namkum Block Development Officer Devdut Pathak.

Notably, Power Grid contributed Rs 200 crore to the Prime Minister’s Care Fund to combat the widespread outbreak of deadly COVID-19. Necessary services for 24 ‘7 uninterrupted power supply have been ensured by Power Grid, said Shankar.

Hand sanitizer and face mask have also been distributed among all the workers. This initiative has also been started in Jamshedpur, Chaibasa Daltenganj and Ranchi sub-center Bedo in Jharkhand state, he said.
