“Sukh chain ki zindagi jio, roti khao, Varna meri goli to hai hi”:  warns PM Modi

Bhuj, Gujarat: In a strongly worded statement aimed at Pakistan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called on its citizens to reject terrorism and embrace peace—or face the full force of India’s military might.

“Sukh chain ki zindagi jio, roti khao, Varna meri goli to hai hee (Live a life of peace and eat your meals. Otherwise, my bullet awaits you),” he said during a public address in Bhuj, Gujarat, issuing a clear warning to its neighbor.

Modi’s remarks came during his first visit to Gujarat following Operation Sindoor—India’s retaliatory military strike targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir. The strikes, carried out by the Indian Air Force on the night of May 6–7, targeted nine locations linked to terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. This was in response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed 26 lives, most of them tourists.

The Prime Minister accused Pakistan of using terrorism as a state policy and reiterated India’s zero-tolerance stance. “India promotes tourism to bring people together. But Pakistan treats terrorism as tourism. This mindset is dangerous not just for us, but for the entire world,” Modi said.

He further warned that if provoked again, India would respond with equal or greater force. “Operation Sindoor makes our policy very clear—those who shed our blood will face a fitting response. We won’t spare anyone,” he asserted.

Addressing the people of Pakistan directly, Modi urged them to recognize how their own government and military were exploiting terrorism for political gain. “It is your families, your future that’s being destroyed. Stand up and help end this menace,” he appealed.

Mocking Pakistan’s lack of response to global pressure post the Pahalgam attack, Modi said, “We waited 15 days for them to act. But it seems, for them, terrorism is part of their survival. When they did nothing, I gave the forces a free hand.”

He added that Pakistan’s airbases are still “in the ICU” following India’s strikes. “We had warned them — our target is terror, not civilians. But if you provoke us, you will face the consequences,” Modi said.

The address in Kutch district also marked the inauguration of development projects worth over ₹50,000 crore, showcasing India’s contrasting vision of progress through infrastructure and peace — in stark contrast, he said, to Pakistan’s agenda of violence and instability.
