Colorful Celebration of Sawan Mahotsav in Bokaro, Jaya Jha Crowned Sawan Queen

Bokaro: A grand Sawan Mahotsav-cum-Poetry Recital was organized by Bokaro’s cultural organization “Jiyo aur Jeene Do” under the guidance of convener Kanak Lata Rai. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 30 women and young girls.

The program began with the lighting of the lamp and a Saraswati Vandana. The poetry session was presided over by Anita Kiran, while Kanak Lata Rai conducted the stage proceedings.

In the poetry recitation competition, Dr. Sonal Singh secured the first position, followed by Usha Devgharia in second and Savita Dev in third place. Alongside, four other competitions were held as part of the Sawan celebrations.

In the solo dance competition, Mili Mani won the first prize, Kasturi Sinha came second, and Satya Singh secured the third position.

In the solo singing competition, the winners were Jyoti Bist, Amita Mishra, and Shobha Singh in first, second, and third place respectively.

In the much-awaited Sawan Queen competition, Jaya Jha was crowned the winner, while Priyanka Singh was the runner-up.

The award for Best Costume went to Sunita Verma.

Traditional sports competitions were also organized during the event, where Maya Agrawal, Rabiya Sheikh, and Kanak Lata Rai emerged victorious. The cultural program was judged by Subhadra Mishra, Indu Agrawal, Kanak Lata Rai, and Amita Mishra. Prizes were distributed by Dr. Sonal Singh, Subhadra Mishra, and Kanak Lata Rai.

The vibrant evening concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Subhadra Mishra, bringing the joyful celebration of tradition, talent, and festivity to a close.
