Aparajita Singh and Aditya Lal of DPS Bokaro – the only students from Jharkhand selected for the prestigious PASCH Scholarship
Bokaro: Aparajita Singh (Class X) and Aditya Lal (Class IX) of DPS Bokaro have earned international acclaim by representing Jharkhand and India at the prestigious PASCH Scholarship Programme in Germany.
The pair were the only students from the state chosen under the Goethe-Institut’s global initiative, PASCH – Schools: Partners for the Future, which connects over 2,000 schools worldwide to promote German language and cultural exchange.
During their 21-day programme in Sankt Peter-Ording, Nordfriesland, the duo interacted with peers from across the globe, attended language and culture classes, and showcased Indian values and artistic heritage through performances and activities that won wide appreciation. They also visited cities including Hamburg, Büsum and Hennstedt, immersing themselves in German life.
Their selection followed a rigorous process, with candidates tested on German vocabulary, communication and cultural understanding. After excelling in interviews at the Goethe-Institut, they attended an orientation in Kolkata before embarking on their journey.
Back in Bokaro, the two shared their experiences at a school assembly. Principal Dr. A. S. Gangwar lauded them for bringing pride to the school and urged students to embrace global opportunities. “Multilingualism opens doors in diplomacy, international relations, tourism, journalism and research. Our children must break stereotypes and look beyond conventional careers,” he said.
