News Desk: In a bizarre and unsettling incident from Sultanpur, a poultry farm owner has blamed high-decibel DJ music from a wedding procession for the sudden death of 140 chickens, prompting a police probe into possible noise pollution violations.
Panic at Poultry Farm Late Night
The incident took place on April 25 in the Kudwar area, when a wedding procession passed close to a local poultry unit around 9:30 PM. The procession, linked to the family of Babban Vishwakarma, was reportedly accompanied by loud DJ music that echoed across the village.
Sabir Ali, owner of Sabir Ali Poultry Farm, alleged that the deafening sound triggered panic among the birds. According to him, the chickens became severely distressed due to the sudden noise surge and died shortly after.

Police Step In, DJ Operator Booked
Acting on Ali’s complaint, police have registered a case against DJ operator Kavi Yadav, a resident of Parsipur. Authorities are now investigating whether the sound system used during the procession breached permissible noise limits.
Officials confirmed that they are examining both the decibel levels and the sequence of events to determine if the loud music directly caused the deaths.
Experts Flag Stress Impact on Birds
While the investigation is ongoing, animal experts note that birds are highly sensitive to abrupt, high-intensity sounds. Extreme stress responses in poultry, they say, can sometimes result in fatal cardiac arrest under severe conditions.
No Response Yet from DJ Operator or Wedding Hosts
As of now, neither the DJ operator nor the family that organised the wedding procession has issued any statement on the incident.
The case has sparked debate locally over noise pollution during celebrations and its unintended consequences on animals.
