Ranchi: Jharkhand’s cricketing landscape has a new star. Kumari Palak, a rising talent from Ranchi, has scripted history by becoming the first female cricketer from the Ranchi District Cricket Association (RDCA) to earn a place in the Indian Women’s U-19 team.
The young batter has been named in India’s squad for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against Sri Lanka, marking a breakthrough moment not only for her career but also for women’s cricket in Jharkhand.
Palak’s journey to the national team is a story of grit, perseverance and relentless hard work. Originally from Deoghar and raised in Ranchi, she honed her skills at the Ormanjhi Cricket Club under the guidance of coach Pankshit Kumar Mahto, who identified her talent early and helped shape her game.
