Bokaro: Chinmaya Mission has earned a place in the Guinness World Records after setting a new benchmark for the highest number of people chanting mantras online simultaneously, with Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro making a significant contribution to the global spiritual event.

According to the official Guinness World Records confirmation, the record was achieved during the ‘Chinmaya Gita Samarpanam’ programme held on May 9, 2026, when participants from across the world simultaneously recited the 15th chapter of the Shrimad Bhagavad Gita, ‘Purushottama Yoga’, to mark the 110th birth anniversary of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati.

Teachers, students and parents of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Bokaro actively participated in the online recitation, contributing to the historic achievement.

Congratulating the school community, Swamini Samyuktananda Saraswati, Resident Acharya of Chinmaya Mission Bokaro, along with School Management Committee Chairman Biswaroop Mukhopadhyay, Secretary Mahesh Tripathi, Principal Suraj Sharma, Senior Vice-Principal Narmendra Kumar and Vice-Principal Dr. Roshan Sharma, lauded the efforts of teachers, students, parents and well-wishers.

Swamini Samyuktananda Saraswati described the record as the result of Lord Krishna’s grace, the blessings of Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati and the collective devotion of Chinmaya Mission members across the globe. She thanked the Bokaro unit for its enthusiastic participation.

The achievement comes as Chinmaya Mission celebrates its 75th anniversary (Chinmaya Amrit Mahotsav), during which several spiritual programmes, including a Hanuman Chalisa Yajna and the Chinmaya Amrit Yatra, have been organised in Bokaro.
