CM Hemant Soren Transfers Rs 1415 Crore to Over 56 Lakh Women Under Maiyaan Samman Yojana

Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren reaffirmed his government’s commitment to the state’s development by transferring Rs 1415 crore and 44 lakh to the bank accounts of 56,61,791 women beneficiaries under the Jharkhand Mukhyamantri Maiyaan Samman Yojana. The Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) was announced at a state-level event held at the Army Ground in Namkum.

During his address, Chief Minister Soren reiterated the government’s pledge to uplift women by enhancing their financial independence. He highlighted the recent increase in the honorarium under the scheme, noting, “We had promised to raise the honorarium from Rs 1000 per month to Rs 2500 starting December, and today, we have fulfilled this promise. The first installment of Rs 2500 has been transferred to your accounts.” He expressed hope that this increase would enable women to make more substantial contributions to the state’s growth.

The Chief Minister emphasized that empowering women through dignity, rights, and financial security remains a priority for his government. “Through your empowerment, you will not only strengthen your families but also play an integral role in the development of both the state and the nation,” he said.

Proudly speaking about the success of the Maiyaan Samman Yojana, Soren noted that it has garnered national recognition for its innovative approach to women’s welfare. “Other states are now looking to adopt this scheme as a model for empowering women,” he said. “I am confident that this will mark a turning point in advancing the status of women in Jharkhand and across the country.”

The event reinforced the government’s ongoing commitment to the economic and social empowerment of women, a vision that is becoming increasingly acknowledged and replicated nationwide.
