Jamshedpur: The CSIR-National Metallurgical Laboratory (NML) in Jamshedpur marked its 75th year of excellence in scientific research by organizing a special Platinum Jubilee Expo for students and educators. The event aimed to showcase the lab’s contributions to innovation and technology development over the years.
A total of 234 students and faculty members from various educational institutions attended the expo. The group included 180 students from PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Tatanagar, 27 from Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata, 6 from NIT Jamshedpur, and 21 from Srinath University, Jamshedpur.
The event commenced with an inaugural session, where Dr. Sandip Ghosh Chowdhury, Director of CSIR-NML, delivered a welcome address. He spoke about the significant contributions of CSIR-NML to India’s technological advancement over the last 75 years.
Following the opening address, students interacted with scientists and engaged in discussions about the laboratory’s ongoing research and development activities. The visit included firsthand demonstrations of various scientific innovations.
The event was well-received, with students and teachers expressing their appreciation for the valuable insights gained during the visit. They left with a deeper understanding of the importance of research in shaping the nation’s progress.
