JNS/Bokaro: A week-long cultural fiesta began today at DPS Bokaro to reiterate the importance of the rich and vibrant traditions of Indian culture and to showcase the talent of the students.
The Cultural Week began with the Dance Performances with the theme ‘VANDANA’ where the teams from all the six houses viz. Ganga, Jamuna, Raavi, Sutlej, Chenab and Jhelum rendered their captivating performances on ‘Shiv Vandana’, ‘Durga Vandana’, ‘Saraswati Vandana’ etc.
Jamuna House stole the show and bagged the first position with their enchanting performance on ‘Krishna Vandana’. Chenab House got the second position with their performance on ‘Prakriti Vandana’ while Raavi House secured the third position for their performance on ‘Ganesh Vandana’.
Appreciating the performance the Chief Guest of the occasion P. Murugun (IPS) Superintendent of Police, Bokaro remarked that DPS Bokaro is known for the holistic development of children and this programme is evidence of the same. “For the success of an individual, one must follow the principle of three ‘H’- Hard work, Humbleness and Honesty,” he added.
Appreciating the mesmerizing performances, Principal A. S. Gangwar, DPS Bokaro said, “Dance is one of the most sacred art forms through which the emotion of an individual is expressed.” “The Cultural Week at school is one of the many opportunities for the students to express their talent in various performing arts through competitions”, he stated.
Gangwar said that this cultural festival is also unique as the stage decoration and the fabulous backdrop has been specially prepared for the first time using the waste materials which is eco-friendly.
