DPS Bokaro felicitates Skill Hub trainees

JNS: Delhi Public School, Bokaro Steel City, organised a special ceremony today to felicitate the first batch of trainees on the successful completion of 3 months training in Skill Hub, a PMKVY 3.0 initiative to provide learning opportunities to adult learners and school dropouts and open up new avenues of financial independence.

Rajan Prasad, Executive Director (P&A), Bokaro Steel Plant- cum- Pro-Vice Chairman, DPS Bokaro Managing Committee, was the Chief Guest on the occasion was welcomed with saplings.

Prasad appreciated DPS Bokaro’s initiative in providing free education and skill building, “Skill building equips us with the necessary skills and knowledge required for a job, making us employable. With the rapidly changing job scenario, it has become imperative for the youth to acquire new skills enabling them to start their own business and become job creators than job seekers. He encouraged the trainees and added that completing the course is the first step in creating their identity. He motivated them to keep learning for better prospects.”

Notably, the trainees received the three months of training free of cost, as the DPS Bokaro School Management bore all expenses under the leadership of Principal Dr A. S. Gangwar.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Gangwar said: “Skill building can improve the quality of life of individuals by enabling them to be financially independent and have access to better opportunities. It also fosters entrepreneurship and creates a skilled workforce. DPS Bokaro has always believed that education is not complete without social commitment and this initiative under PMKVY 3.0 is just another step towards building an equitable society.”

The Skill Hub was inaugurated by Kuldeep Chaudhary, IAS, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bokaro, on June 27, 2022. The ‘Skill Hub Initiative’ under Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana 3.0 (PMKVY 3.0) aims to facilitate and make education more relevant and create an industry-fit skilled workforce. It envisions the integration of vocational education with general education as stated in the ‘National Education Policy 2020’ and is designed in accordance with ‘National Skill Qualification Framework.’
