Delhi Public School, Bokaro today celebrated its 32nd foundation day with big pomp and show at the school premises. The glorious foundation functions were organised on this eve where Ashok Bhagat the Padmashree awardee and social worker was the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion Bhagat asked the students that they should remain the flag bearers in all spheres of life not only on the national level but even on global level bringing laurels to the school in whichever profession they opt to work for.
Praising the holistic education being imparted to students giving them space to learn, experiment and enquire in the field of agriculture, music, culture, sports besides giving tips for saving the environment, Bhagat pleaded the students that, they are lucky to study in school like DPS which is among the few counted in the country, they should take pledge to serve 80 percent of the population of the country which lacks quality schools.
He insisted that major percentage of the population still lacks basic facilities and are not lucky enough to study in quality school like DPS, they too have the pious duty to give back to the society the best they have received from their Alma mater. Bhagat advised the students of DPS should also take a pledge to put in their best for bringing smiles which will be a return back gift to the school which will be remembered always in history.
Dr Hemlata S Mohan the Director and Principal of the school said that her motto and mission in DPS is not only to create students to get excellent grades in examination but work hard to groom good human beings and resourceful professionals who prove to help in creating progressive society and wilfully play an instrumental role in building the nation and for the betterment of the mankind globally. “The holistic development of a child is carried out with intense planning at DPS, not only academically but in all spheres of life be it culture and art, saving the environment or working for social cause and cooperation,” added Mohan.
Addressing the students, Guest of Honour, Pro Vice Chairman, DPS, Bokaro, Suresh Kumar Agarwal asked the students to cultivate the habit of learning which always play an important role in every sphere of life and till date he has kept this as his success mantra of life.
The Primary wing students presented a creative dance which was followed by the prize distribution for the students from classes VI to VIII and later the chief guest distributed uniforms and reading materials to Deepansh school students run for the underprivileged, under the aegis of DPS, Bokaro. A special presentation of the song of the year ‘Hoga Kal Sunehera’ brought a mystic spell over the gathering and that was followed by the prize distribution for the students from classes IX to XI in various categories.
On this occasion, a special programme was also organised by the Deepansh students which happen to be foundation day of this institute also. the Foundation Day of Deepansh. The alumni of Deepansh also gathered and relived their school days. Dr. Mohan, while addressing the gathering at ‘Deepansh’ stated that to excel in life knowledge and skills are needed as a background of a person hardly matters to succeed. Another programme was held today by Primary school students at sector v where the chief guest Executive Director (Projects), Bokaro Steel Limited, R C Srivastav gave away regularity award to scores of students.
Earlier the chief guest along with Dr. Mohan inaugurated the Wellness and Life Skill Club- ‘Anand Kachha’ at the school premises.
The foundation function began with a welcome song followed by cultural programme after which scores of students were given certificates and award not only in the field of academic excellence but also those who never remained absent in their school life, including one who never remained absent in last fourteen years.
