Dhanbad: Dr. K.V. Vidyanandan, Professor of Practice at NIT Calicut, delivered a compelling lecture on hydrogen’s emerging role in the power and transport sectors at IIT (ISM) Dhanbad.
The lecture, titled “Emerging Roles of Hydrogen in Power and Transport Sectors,” was attended by faculty, research scholars, and students, with Professor Sukumar Mishra, Director of IIT (ISM), and Professor Sukanta Das, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department, present.
Dr. Vidyanandan outlined hydrogen’s potential as a sustainable energy carrier, highlighting advancements in hydrogen technology for power generation and transportation.
He also discussed the challenges of integrating hydrogen into existing systems and provided a global perspective on its role in the energy transition.
With a distinguished 38-year career in the energy sector, including roles at NTPC and as General Manager at PMI Noida, Dr. Vidyanandan is a leading expert in renewable energy. His research interests include wind and solar PV systems, energy storage, electric vehicles, and hydrogen fuel cells.
He has authored 23 research papers and five manuals on thermal power plant simulators, and his work has been widely cited.
Dr. Vidyanandan’s insights reaffirmed his expertise and the transformative potential of hydrogen in the future of energy and transport.
