Dhanbad: The alumni of IIT-ISM Dhanbad’s 1999 batch gathered for a nostalgic Silver Jubilee reunion on November 22-23, marking 25 years since their graduation. The two-day event included visits to iconic campus locations such as hostels, classrooms, the Ramdhani Stall, the Golden Jubilee Lecture Theatre (GJLT), Penman Auditorium, and the Institute Innovation Hub (i2h). On November 23, the celebrations began with a plantation drive, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,’ where alumni planted trees across the campus to honor the occasion.

A grand luncheon hosted by Professor M K Singh, Dean of Academics and Director in Charge, followed, where discussions on the upcoming Centenary Celebrations, beginning December 9, 2024, were held. Professor Singh encouraged alumni to “Dream Together, Build Together” and contribute to the institute’s Centenary programs and infrastructure.

The event featured a welcome address by Professor Tanmoy Maity, Associate Dean of International Relations and Alumni Affairs (IRAA), and a presentation by Mr. Mritunjay Sharma, Assistant Registrar (IRAA), about the upcoming centenary celebrations. Professor Rajeev Upadhyay, Faculty in Charge of Alumni Affairs, delivered the vote of thanks. Dr. Dhiraj Kumar, Horticulture Officer, IIT (ISM), coordinated the plantation drive.

To commemorate their reunion, a group photo was taken in front of the Heritage Building, marking a memorable occasion for the Silver Jubilee batch.
