New Delhi: Indian girl Harnaaz Sandhu, 21, has been crowned as Miss Universe 2021. She won the prestigious pageant of Miss Universe 2021 by defeating Paraguay’s Nadia Ferreira at the contest held in Eilat, Israel.
She was crowned by former Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico, Andrea Meza. The event was live-streamed globally.
Sandhu brought home the crown, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000. Actor Sushmita also won the title back in 1994.
Harnaaz won multiple pageant titles and appeared in Punjabi films such as Yaara Diyan Poo Baran and Bai Ji Kuttange; she has been part of the glamorous industry for some time.
She likes to go horse riding and cooking in her free time. Harnaaz also won the Times Fresh Face Miss Chandigarh 2017 title. In addition, she was crowned Femina Miss India Punjab 2019 and Miss Max Emerging Star India 2018. She came up 11 spots short of winning Femina Miss India 2019 and settled for second place.
