Jharkhand CM meets investors in Singapore

Raghubar DasSingapore/Ranchi : A twelve member high-level delegation comprising of government officials and business leaders led by Chief Minister Raghubar Das and Indian High Commissioner to Singapore Javed Ashraf held several “Business to Government” meetings with leading business houses and Government to Government meeting in Singapore.

On the second day, Mr Das and his team of senior bureaucrats met with group of industry leaders, executives from IIM Alumni Group, Sembcorp and a delegation led by CII-India Business Forum for a discussion about investment opportunities in Jharkhand and for encouraging participation at the “Momentum Jharkhand Global Investors’ Summit” to be held in February 2017 at Ranchi.

Delegation visited Institute of Technical Education (ITE) & New Water (NEWater) facility in Singapore to develop world class technical institute and Water treatment plant in Jharkhand. Delegation also showcased the investment opportunities in Jharkhand. Singapore Institute of Technical Education is one of the best technical skill development centres of the world. Mr Das discussed the possibility to open similar type of education centre in Jharkhand with 3000 student capacity and Singapore Institute of Technical Education assured that they will assist Jharkhand for doing the same.

]During the discussion, in principle, it was agreed that Government of Jharkhand will soon sign an MoU with ITE, preferably during GIS.

The delegation also visited Singapore NEWater facility, Singapore. NEWater facility is one of the largest waste water treatment plants with cutting edge technology and procedure.

Chief Secretary Rajbala Verma discussed the possible cooperation between NEWater and Government of Jharkhand for rain water harvesting and water management system in Jharkhand. Jharkhand will sign MoU with Singapore NEWater facility to assist Jharkhand to develop robust water management system.

 

The round table discussion with IIM Alumni Network and CII-India Business Forum led delegation focused on key areas for investment promotion in the state that include Automobiles,  Agriculture and food processing, Textiles, Tourism, Urban development, IT/ITes, Energy, Skill development, Industrial Infrastructure, Healthcare, Education and Start-up. Pan IIM delegation appreciated the vision of the Government of Jharkhand and dynamic leadership o Raghubar Das.

They said, “Jharkhand is all set to be the Industrial hub of eastern India. Combination of skilled manpower, robust scope and natural advantage sector of the economy makes Jharkhand an ideal destination for investment. They also commended government initiative to reach out to the investors by organising national and international road show. Mr Manish Tripathi form Pan IIM proposed to setup manufacturing unit in Jharkhand for electronic Vehicle and battery production, Pan IIM is also interested to develop IT zone in Jharkhand.
