Kashmir Militant attack: One policeman killed, 14 injured

grenade-attackOne policeman killed while 14 other injured when militants attacked with grenades in Nowhatta area of old Srinagar on Sunday after the Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s longest tunnel.

Terrorists hurled the grenade on a police party next to Ganjbaksh Park in Nowhatta area of the city at around 7.00 pm when the cops were withdrawing from there after day-long law and order duty, a police official said.

“There was stone pelting in the area and a police party came under grenade attack. One policeman was killed,” said Imtiyaz Ismael Parray, a senior police officer in Srinagar.

Today, separatists had called for a strike against the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who inaugurated the country’s longest road tunnel along the Srinagar-Jammu National highway.
