Bokaro: BJP State Working Committee member Kumar Amit has called for the immediate commencement of postgraduate (PG) studies, intermediate courses, and National Cadet Corps (NCC) training at City College Bokaro.
During a recent meeting with Dr. Umamangeshwari, the college’s in-charge Principal, Amit underscored the critical need to reinstate these educational programs. He noted that PG studies were initially introduced at City College following a determined effort by students, marking a significant step forward for Bokaro’s educational landscape by providing local access to higher education. However, these programs were recently halted due to alleged inaction by the college management, despite university authorization.
Amit expressed his discontent with the college administration’s reluctance to restart PG and intermediate courses, highlighting that this decision impedes the region’s educational advancement. Additionally, he pointed out that NCC training, which was once available at City College, has been suspended for years due to a lack of interest from certain institutions, depriving students of valuable opportunities.
Amit urged the college administration to urgently submit proposals to the University for the Reinstatement of these programs. He also warned of potential phased protests if these issues remain unresolved.
Dr. Umamangeshwari assured that the proposals would be forwarded to the university management promptly. The meeting saw support from several student leaders, including Suman Kumar, Pawan Kumar, Lalbabu, Ajay Kumar, Karan Gorai, Anil Sharma, Chandraprakash, Mukesh Sharma, Devnarayan Tudu, Ramu Kumar Soren, Avinash Sharma, Ravindra Yadav, and Jitendra Kumar Kushwaha, who expressed their backing for the initiative.
