New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday unveiled a commemorative volume on Operation Sindoor, bringing together the personal accounts of 100 military personnel who participated in the operation, including officers, soldiers, sailors, and airmen.
Released at a ceremony in New Delhi attended by senior military leadership, the publication seeks to document the human stories behind one of India’s most significant recent military operations. The event was attended by General Anil Chauhan, Admiral Dinesh K Tripathi, General Upendra Dwivedi and Air Chief Marshal AP Singh.
Describing the book as a tribute to the courage and dedication of India’s armed forces, Singh said it offers citizens a rare glimpse into the sacrifices made by soldiers to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and security. He urged readers to draw inspiration from the stories of resilience, leadership and service captured in its pages.
Operation Sindoor was an unprecedented success where India compelled Pakistan to seek a ceasefire under four days. It was different from all other wars that India has fought so far.

The Defence Minister termed Operation Sindoor an “unprecedented success,” claiming that India’s military response compelled Pakistan to seek a ceasefire within four days. He said the operation differed from previous conflicts by demonstrating the effectiveness of modern, integrated warfare and swift military execution.
Unlike conventional military histories that focus on strategic decisions and command-level planning, the book highlights experiences from the ground and frontline. It features narratives from troops deployed along the Line of Control, combat pilots, air defence operators, naval personnel, special forces teams, missile crews, signallers, logisticians and medical officers who played crucial roles during the operation.
The publication aims to capture the realities of modern warfare through the eyes of those who executed it, offering insights into the challenges, split-second decisions and teamwork that transformed military strategy into operational success.
