Pakistan military moving troops to forward areas with offensive intent

New Delhi: India’s Armed Forces are on high operational readiness following reports of Pakistani troop movements near the Line of Control, signaling a potential escalation of hostilities.

The Defense Ministry, alongside Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, confirmed Pakistan’s military has been actively targeting both civilian and military sites in India.

The developments follow India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor, launched in response to the deadly April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam. Pakistani forces have intensified incursions, using drones and heavy artillery across various sectors, including Kupwara, Baramulla, and Rajouri, causing civilian casualties. India responded by inflicting substantial damage on Pakistani positions while emphasizing restraint unless provoked further.

Wing Commander Vyomika Singh confirmed India’s strategic precision strikes on Pakistani military assets, ensuring no civilian harm. However, the escalation continued with drone attacks and shelling that left significant damage at Indian Air Force bases. Tragically, senior official Raj Kumar Thappa was killed in Pakistani shelling in Rajouri, condemned by Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.

With tensions rising, India reaffirmed its commitment to defend against cross-border terrorism while avoiding unnecessary escalation.
