JNS: As the Lok Sabha election results draw near, the spotlight has turned to illegal betting markets like Mumbai’s Phalodi Satta Bazaar, which have garnered significant attention with their survey predictions, now aligning closely with exit poll results.
Major grey markets, including the Phalodi Satta Bazaar, are seeing brisk business, with bets worth several crores of rupees being placed during the election period, according to the Financial Express.
While the Phalodi Satta Bazaar predicts a clear majority for the NDA, the Mumbai Satta Bazaar projects a massive victory for the India Block, forecasting the opposition alliance to secure over 300 seats.
The Phalodi Satta Bazaar has a reputation for accurate predictions, whether in elections, cricket matches, or weather forecasts.
Its predictions for the Karnataka assembly elections last year closely matched the actual results, with Congress and BJP securing 137 and 55 seats, respectively. Similarly, it accurately predicted Congress’ victory in Himachal Pradesh in 2022 when most exit polls were uncertain.
With the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Phalodi Satta Bazaar, Mumbai Satta Bazaar, and other similar markets are offering intriguing insights. Most exit polls suggest the BJP will return to power with a stronger mandate than in 2019, with some indicating the NDA could cross the 400-seat mark.
The Phalodi Satta Bazaar’s estimates are closely aligned with exit poll figures, projecting the BJP to win around 305-307 seats and the NDA 350-355 seats. These projections have varied throughout different polling phases, ranging between 292 and 330 seats.
As of the latest estimates released on Saturday after the seventh phase of polling, most exit polls predict 350-360 seats for the NDA, with some suggesting the ruling alliance could exceed 400 seats.
