Mumbai: Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), the largest Maharatna public sector steel producer in India, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with John Cockerill India Limited (JCIL), the Indian subsidiary of the global John Cockerill Group. The MoU, signed in Mumbai, aims to foster innovation and sustainability in the steel industry by combining the technological expertise and resources of both companies.
The MoU was signed by Anil Kumar Tulsiani, Director (Finance) of SAIL, and Michael Kotas, Managing Director of the Metals Division at John Cockerill India. This partnership will focus on areas such as cold rolling and processing for carbon steel, green steel, and silicon steel, particularly in the production of Cold Rolled Grain Oriented (CRGO) and Cold Rolled Non-Oriented (CRNO) steels.
One of the key objectives of this collaboration is the integration of green technologies into the iron and steel production process. The two companies aim to enhance production efficiency while incorporating advanced steel technologies to promote sustainability and reduce carbon emissions.
