Swinburne Announces 30% Scholarship for Women in Engineering

Melbourne: Swinburne University of Technology has announced a Women in Engineering Leadership Scholarship offering eligible international women students a 30% tuition-fee reduction for the standard duration of selected engineering and construction programmes beginning in 2027.

The scholarship is open to international students enrolling for the first time at Swinburne’s Hawthorn campus in 2027. It covers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including the Bachelor of Engineering (Honours), Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours), Master of Professional Engineering, Master of Engineering Science and Master of Construction and Infrastructure Management.

The initiative is designed to encourage more women to pursue academic and professional careers in engineering and construction while helping them develop industry-relevant technical and leadership skills.

To qualify, applicants must meet the university’s course and scholarship-specific entry requirements and be classified as international students. Applicants cannot simultaneously receive another Swinburne tuition-fee scholarship or reduced-fee arrangement. They are also not eligible to combine the award with a tuition-fee scholarship or similar fee reduction from another organisation.

The application deadline is January 15, 2027.

Students applying for their first eligible course at the Hawthorn campus in 2027 will be automatically considered for available international scholarships, with previous academic performance forming part of the assessment. Successful candidates will receive details of any scholarship award in their offer letter.
