Major IAS Reshuffle in UP: 10 Senior Officers Transferred, Health, Energy, Education Get New Heads

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle involving 10 senior IAS officers, bringing changes at the top of several key departments, including Health, Higher Education, Agriculture, Panchayati Raj, Food and Civil Supplies, Energy, Technical Education and Labour and Employment.

The reshuffle includes both transfers and additional responsibilities. Among the most significant changes, Amit Kumar Ghosh has been shifted from Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Medical, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education, and appointed ACS, Higher Education.

V. Hekali Zhimomi, who was handling the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department as Principal Secretary, has been moved to Medical, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education. Mahendra Prasad Agarwal, earlier Principal Secretary, Higher Education, will now head the Forest, Environment and Climate Change Department.

Major Changes in Agriculture, Food and Panchayati Raj

The government has also reworked the administrative leadership of the Agriculture, Food and Civil Supplies and Panchayati Raj departments.

Anil Kumar has been transferred from Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj, to Principal Secretary, Food and Civil Supplies. He has also been given charge of Consumer Affairs and the post of Commissioner, Food and Civil Supplies.

Dr MKS Sundaram has been appointed Principal Secretary, Agriculture, with additional responsibilities for Agricultural Education and Research, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Export Promotion.

Ravindra has been appointed Principal Secretary, Panchayati Raj. His new assignment comes along with agriculture-related responsibilities that he was already handling, including Agricultural Education and Research, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Export Promotion, as well as the directorship of the Uttar Pradesh State Agricultural Produce Mandi Council.

Ranveer Prasad Takes Charge of Energy

The Energy Department has seen one of the key changes in the reshuffle. Ranveer Prasad, who was handling Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, has been appointed Principal Secretary, Energy and Additional Energy.

He will also head several major power-sector bodies as chairman, including the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Limited (UPPTCL), Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited and UPSLDC Limited.

Dr Ashish Kumar Goyal, who was serving as Additional Chief Secretary, Energy and Additional Energy, has been shifted to the Labour and Employment Department as Additional Chief Secretary.

Amrit Abhijat Gets Additional Charge of Transport

Amrit Abhijat will continue as Additional Chief Secretary of Tourism, Culture and Religious Affairs and has additionally been given charge of the Transport Department.

Meanwhile, Amit Gupta will continue as Principal Secretary, Stamp and Registration, and has been given the additional charge of Principal Secretary, Technical Education.
